wow, this is so helpful.....all this time i was just guessing what those abreviated letters means....
some i guessed correctly and some soo way off! LOL

i have been wondering what that LOTD means....i always thought it means Lord Of The Dance LMAO :lol:

It would be cool if there was a list of all of these on one of the tabs... just like the forum and store tabs. I've been on here less than 3 months and still have questions on some acronyms :oops:

This isn't an abbreviation but the metal part of your makeup brush is called a ferrule. I always wanted to know what is was so I looked it up.

I am not a moderator but I made a "glossary" for myself.


    b2m = back to mac
    BE = Bare Escentuals
    beat a face/your face is beat! = It just means, your whole face is flawless. Or your makeup is
    done really nicely
    BFTE = Beauty from the Earth (website that sells makeup)
    BM = Bare minerals
    BN = Ben Nye
    BNIB = Brand New In Box
    BNNB = Brand New No Box
    BNWOB = Brand New WithOut Box
    BOGO = Buy one get one (usually half off or free)
    BTFL = Black track fluid line.
    Bump = Just means that they are posting "bump", to move (bump) the topic to the top of the
    list.
    CC = Constructive Criticism
    CCB = Cream Color Base
    CCO = Cosmetic Company Outlet
    CCS = Cosmetic Company Store
    CP = Custom Purchase (You give your $$ to someone, you trust 100%, to help you buy stuff that you want from shops and counters from overseas or something) It must also include postage unless the Purchasee waives it.
    CS = Costal Scents (website that sells makeup and brushes)
    DC = Discontinued
    Ditto = When somebody said what you were going to say
    Dupe = Duplicate. Which means that an eyeshadow (or any other product, for that matter) can look quite similar to another one, so you don´t need both.
    EDM = Everyday Minerals
    e/l = Eye Liner
    Elf = Eyes Lips Face
    EOTD = Eye of the day
    EOTN `= Eye of the night
    e/s = Eye Shadow
    FOTD = Face of the day
    FOTN = Face of the night
    Haul = This isn´t an abbreviation. It´s what you call it when you´ve done some shopping, and want to show what you got. So it´s stuff you´ve just bought
    HG = Holy Grail. If someone says they´ve found their HG foundation, it means that it´s the best foundation they´ve ever had.
    High-end brands = Pricey brands
    HTF = Hard To Find
    HTH = HOPE THAT HELPS
    IMO = In my opinion
    ISO = In search of
    LE = Limited Edition
    l/g = lipgloss
    LOTD = Look of the day
    LOTN = Look of the night
    Low-end brands = Drugstore brands, cheaper stuff
    l/s = Lipstick
    MA = Makeup Artist
    MAC = Makeup Artist Cosmetics
    MES = Mineralize Eye Shadow
    MIA = Missing in Action
    MMU = Mineral Make Up
    MSF = Mineralize Skin Finish
    MUA = Make Up Alley or Make Up Artist
    MUFE = Make Up For Ever
    MUG = Make Up Geek
    NIB = New In Box
    PIC HEAVY = Means that a page has a lot a pictures. It´s basically a warning that it that *could* take a while to download the page
    PL = Pure Luxe (cosmetic brand sell online)
    pm = private message
    P/M = Pigment
    PP = Paintpot
    P&P = Prep and Prime
    p/p = Paintpot
    PRO = Refers to MAC Pro products
    REG = Regular
    RIS = Received In Swap
    ROP = Read On Please
    SS = Shade stick
    TAT = Turn Around Time (the time it takes a company to send your order out)
    TFSI = Too Faced Shadow Insurance
    TM = Tinted Moisturizer
    UD = Urban Decay
    UDPP = Urban Decay Primer Potion
    YLBB = Your lips but better


The lay-out of the list in this post is not that excellent, but I don't know how to change it.
I made my own list in a word document.
