To me, it seems like so many people MUG's have blogs now, that we post looks on there instead of MUG. By maybe thats just me.

But I also agree with Lolli.

I somewhat agree with you guys as well, sometimes a question is asked 3 times a week and if you search you find an answer although some question have been answered like about a year ago and since then new products have been developed so i can understand people sometimes want a more updated answer. I also agree about the Blogs and Youtubechannels people are starting so they stop posting here or at first do post links but it appears that mugs don´t like responding to links so they stop doing that.

I don't have an issue with people who want current information, or whose question requires more specifics or different variables than what others cover. Neither of those were what I was talking about, and I tried to make it clear in my post that my issue is with repetitive questions which already have a relevant answer. There's been times when I've seen the exact same question asked three or four times in the top half a dozen threads listed in a section. I've even seen times when quite literally the top two threads were the exact same question.

I like that people are starting their own blogs and channels, I've been neglecting my blog feeds for the past month but have picked it up again. I think the reason a lot of people don't react well to people posting links has more to do with how they're posted rather than that they're posted. You tend to find that links which are posted with a mini review and a link to the full version or more information on a video or photos get a response, while those which essential have a few lines of "look at this" simply aren't going to interest people and tend to come off as spam. I've actually seen more than a few be reported as spam. I think this is a grave pity, because I feel members with their own blogs and channels are a huge asset to this forum, and can provide far more information through their content than what a person would normally provide in a reply to a thread. Not trying to say people have incomplete replies or anything, simply that posts and vids tend to be a bit more thought out and prepared, so often have more information than what one might of thought to put into a reply in the moment. I'd like to see this forum become more blogger/vlogger friendly.

As a moderator, I even feel like I haven't been fulfilling my duties lately. Life throws it's curveballs sometimes, and that's what I've been dealing with over the past 6 months. Wow - 6 months? When I think about it, that's half a year that's just flown by! So much has happened for me, and I hope to have the time to be more involved with these forums once again. :)

I do agree, we need to have someone in charge of promoting and managing the forums. I feel like the forums are just on the back burner compared to everything else that MakeupGeek is doing. We need a little revamping to get people really interested again!

Glad to see some of the older members still here and posting! :) I sure have missed all of you!

I am going to do a bigger post on this later, but I started dating one of my best friends since High School a couple months ago and we've decided we are getting married! :) He's in the Army and being stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii in January and I'll be moving there with him! I also have decided to go back to school next year and get my esthetician license. So much to do over the next four months, but I'm so excited!

Do you think the current state of the world's economies are having an effect too? People are trying to save money because their bills are getting bigger and their jobs aren't as secure as they used to be, therefore they are avoiding MUG so they aren't tempted to buy new makeup?

It is a shame that the forums aren't as busy as they used to be, and I hope that the lack of traffic isn't discouraging people from visiting, thereby creating less traffic, etc etc. :(

The economy might have an effect but I doubt it's not that they deliberately avoid this place not to get tempted but I don't think make up is probably the main thing in people's lives if they are having bad economic situation so they probably don't even think about the whole forums and therefore don't come. There's also been summer and people have been on vacations and now they're just getting back to routines after going back to work etc so they might come back as the autumn has fully started :)

And people just get bored of something for no apparent reason - like I didn't visit one forum for over a year and then I went back there after I've thought that now I can enjoy it again.

I haven't been contributing as well actually. & Im still quite new to this forum, but when i started, i remember i wouldn't go a day without posting.

Well the reason why i haven't been on are for some positive reasons, and for some negative...

For the positive, As some of you Mugs might know, Probably getting sick of me saying it, hehe... I just had my first child 2 months ago, and its hard to do ANYTHING in the house...lol

For the negative, A close family friend of ours got shot down in his own house, in front of his wife and kids, and my brothers close friend also got shot and killed...

I live in Germany, but all this happened in Michigan.... Ive been feeling depressed and not really in the mood to do anything...

Im flying out soon to MI to be with my family and to introduce my baby to them also...But i don't know how im going to be able to cope with all that has happened since i have left....

& from all that had happened, my mother had been hospitalized, thank god she is okay now... But i just need to be with my family...

Although, when i do makeup, it kinda makes me forget whats been going on, and also when i am with my baby...<3

I remember what it was like the first time round, so I had kind of assumed you'd simply been busy adjusting to like as a mummy, getting what sleep you can when you can, and enjoying the time you have with your precious wee bundle. I am so, so sorry to hear about what's happened. *huggles*
