Freckles are a blessing and a curse… they hide acne well, but make my skin tone a daily roulette.
Should my foundation be matched to my fairer skin tone or the darkest freckles or somewhere in between?
I live in South Florida where the sun shines 24/7. When I go outside for any period of time, it makes my freckles darker and my lighter skin either stays the same or turns red. I don’t need to be brown, but my paler skin makes me look sickly. I would settle for slightly sun-kissed.
Is there a sunscreen or tinted moisturizer or bronzer you could suggest?
THANK YOU!
I have very fair skin and lots of freckles. My skin never tans when I go in the sun….but my freckles get a tan!
I have always matched my foundation to my skin tone, and I keep bronzer handy for when I do get a little sun, and I use it to contour my cheeks and give a little color to my temples instead of going to a darker shade of foundation. Because if you’re like me, when you do tan, you don’t stay that color for very long at all. It usually goes away within a couple of weeks.
My current favorites for foundation and bronzer are Clinique’s BB Cream in 01 (or their tinted moisturizer) and Clinique’s bronzer in 02 Sunkissed. Hth, and good luck.
Btw, I used the BB Cream when I went to Jazz Fest in New Orleans and stayed out in the sun for 6 hours, and no sun burn. It has an SPF of 30 and it lasted in spite of per-fuse sweating.
