They used to be a department store brand.  I haven’t used anything by Hard Candy since the late 90′s.  But I was curious about their quality now.  I know a lot of people like their blushes and bronzers.  I wanted to pick up a few items too.  I just don’t go to Walmart much at all, so haven’t done so yet.  But I am curious too.

Back when I was a freshman in high school (1997) I got a Hard Candy shadow palette at Nordstroms, it had 4 colors and cost $35 back then.  The colors were amazing, still to this day I have been looking for colors that would be dupes for it.  I loved it!

I’ll be checking back to this thread for answers as well.  Good question.

Yeah, I remember back when Hard Candy was at/on Sephora (for the curious, HC used to be owned by Urban Decay). Back then I bought one of their nail polishes, a lovely baby blue colour. I don’t have it any more, though.

I’ve not tried much since it became a Walmart-exclusive brand — just a nail polish and one of the mascaras. The nail polish is as good as it was when it was a Sephora brand, IMO (as in, great formula, wears well). The mascara (Ginormous Lash Volumizing Mascara in Black) wasn’t bad, either, but I’m not a massive fan of the wand. It’s too small for my liking.

I know the Glamouflauge concealer is well-liked by some (I think I’ve read it may be a dupe for Kat Von D’s Tattoo Concealer). Fair-skin gals may want to consider the bronzers; you may find one that works for you (particularly the one in Hula Hula). I was in Walmart not too long ago and went by the HC section; I’d forgotten how light-coloured the bronzers were.

I think the brand in general is definitely worth a look.

they just took away HC from the Walmart by my house because no one was buying it, some girl was really upset that they weren’t going to carry it anymore. I’m sad that I never got a chance to use them :/. Wow shelly I didn’t know UD owned them [used to], the more you know. @.@

Take Wikipedia with a grain of salt. It isn’t always 100% reliable. I’m pretty confident that UD used to own Hard Candy. (HC is now owned by the same company that releases the Accessorize brand in the UK.)
