    Hi Muggies,

Since this summer is already hitting record temperatures, I’d really like to see some info/tips on summer makeup.  Specifically, ways to keep your face from melting off.  I know waterproof eye products are a good idea, but I’d like to know what works best for everyone when it comes to foundation/skin coverage.

What do you recommend?  Tinted moisturizers?  BB creams?  Powders?

Any great primers to avoid a melting face?

    What works best for you?

    Stay cool out there,

    Kim

    ;-)

    P.S.–

    I sweat.  A LOT.  Haha.

You may like this video Marlena did last year; it has a few ideas, though not necessarily for skin…

My thinky thoughts… I think something as simple as changing your moisturizer to something that’s more mattifying, if your face tends to get very oily in summer, may make a difference. Carry blotting papers with you; use a mattifying pressed powder (Urban Decay makes ones.) Make Up For Ever has a lot of waterproof/water-resistant products, and not just for the eyes. I know Mat Velvet+ foundation is water-resistant (I think Face and Body is as well).

Personally, I tend to reach for tinted moisturizer most during the summer (I use Bobbi Brown’s oil-free one). Lighter coverage, quick and easy.

I’m a huge fan of BB creams, the one thing which really sold me on them was the very fact that I found they held up way better to the hot and humid summer weather than what foundation does on my uber oily skin. Of course, some were better than others and I admit there were a few which were completely useless for me (to be fair, I imagine they’ed work for people with less oily skin than me), my fall back was always Missha M Perfect Cover. I found that setting powder made a huge difference, and that rice powder based setting powders seemed to work best for me over silica based ones when it came to longevity.

Awesome, thanks Shelly!  I didn’t know about Tarte’s waterproof brow mousse.  But now I gotta have.  Dang, haha.

I’m a huge fan of BB creams, too, Aro, and I’ve been using the Missha M Perfect Cover.  But I’m having problems with the setting powder I use with it.  I sweat right through it.  I’ll try the rice powder and see if that works.  Thanks!

Updated summer 2013 video would be awesome. Maybe highlight new products or trends for seasons.
