So this was released not too long ago, and when I stumbled upon the news that it hit Ulta stores, I had to have it! I have a bit of an obsession with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, and the movie has made me very interested about the tv show that inspired it.
The palette itself sparked my interest because I really liked the design:
This is just a quick run-down. I have a more complete review on my blog.
The shadows appealed to me as much as the packaging.
Unfortunately the lighter shades don’t show up too well, even after being built up. They’re best left for use as highlighting shades, IMO. The better news is these don’t seem to crease too easily, or fade all that fast as long as you have something under them. Application for some shades is difficult, but for the most part the shadows are great.
The blush included is absolutely AMAZING. The pigment blew me away, especially compared to the lip glosses, which take quite a bit of work. The highlight is also a real stunner–kind of has a lot of shimmer, but if you’re careful you shouldn’t end up looking like a disco ball.
The liner and primer included are kind of standard and don’t really have anything special about them.
Overall, I’d say this palette is worth checking out, especially if you like darker colors. The amount of product you get is well worth it in my eyes.
Oh, and sorry about the not so great pictures… it’s been rainy here, so there wasn’t much natural light.
This looks like a fun palette! Thanks for the review~
Thank you for this review. I have been considering getting this palette but wanted the opinion of another makeup geek before I purchased it. I think I will definitely be getting this palette now.
NYX sometimes is amazing and sometimes not
