Hey Ladies! So I wash my face every morning and night and my skin just seems to be getting worse with more acne. Also I’m very dry and itchy on my face with rough, even raw feeling, patches. What am i doing wrong and how can I help? PLEASE ANY ADVICE WOULD BE WONDERFUL CAUSE I’M GOING CRAZY WITH MY FACE LIKE THIS

September 11, 2012 at 9:58 pm #190780In the morning I use Clean&Clear oil absorbing cream cleaner on my t-zone and then Cetaphil on my cheeks and chin. Night I just use Cetaphil. I don’t use a lotion cause it makes my skin even oilier than it already is.
September 11, 2012 at 11:13 pm #190789I found it very helpful to switch to a benzoyl peroxide that was 2% instead of 10%. I bought mine at acne.org and it came in a giant bottle that lasts forever. It’s gentler and less drying than the 10% solution but works just as well.
It might also be helpful to consider a dermatologist if you situation is truly that scary >: what you’re describing sounds painful.
September 12, 2012 at 8:51 pm #190872I once used Cetaphil cleanser and my whole face broke out in pimples and was very itchy. I had some type of reaction to an ingredient in the Cetaphil cleanser. Fortunately I had metro-gel, which is for irritant dermatitis, and it cleared my face in one week. Sounds like it could possibly be some type of dermatitis. I would see a dermatologist and definately stop using the benzoyl peroxide. I don’t know if you’ve been using those two face washes for a while or if one of the two is new to your face washing routine, but if one of those cleansers is, I would stop using it on your skin. Maybe just get a cleanser and lotion for oily skin instead of acne treatments to allow your skin to heal and to stop over-producing oil due to being stripped dry from the benzoyl peroxide. The intaugumentary system, your skin, plays such a vital role in your health. It is important to not only take care of your skin, but to treat any issues as they arise. Inflammation of any organ, internal or external, should be taken seriously and treated by a doctor if need be.
September 17, 2012 at 6:26 am #191560Don’t use Cetaphil Cleanser as you said that your skin is dry and Cetaphil Cleanser works well on oily skin.
Don’t use soaps having harsh detergents as they strip away the natural moisturizing oils in your skin. This can cause dryness, irritation, and inflammation.
Oatmeal is one of the best Natural Skin Care Treatment. It is anti–inflammatory. When you apply it on your skin, it exfoliates your skin giving it a brighter complexion. It relieves the skin of redness, dryness and any irritations that you might have. It soothes skin that feels itchy as well. Rich in antioxidants, it protects your skin from free radicals.
